I almost forgot

It's weird that I could have the best single of the year just kind of slip my mind (and that probably has something to do with it being released much earlier than most of what I've been listening to recently), but Robyn, Three 6 and Sweet Billy P. are just going to have to back up - the Futureheads' "Hounds Of Love" will not be denied. That song still makes me happier than just about anything else I've heard.

I know exactly how you feel about that song. The one problem with it for me, though, is that I loved it as a treat tucked away at the end of a brilliant album - in many ways, I wish it had stayed that way rather than getting a single release.

I've got to respectfully disagree with you on that, Ben. I love it in context on the album too, but it's such a singular thing (very different in tone from the rest of the debut) that I also adore it all on its lonesome.
