The great white godless north

So about half of all Canadians do "something religious" (note that this includes more than just something like going to church, which just less than a third of Canadians do monthly) every month - and this is being cited as "[suggesting] Canadians are more devout than is often assumed."

Personally I was surprised that the number was so low, but I guess our reputation as a bunch of heathens precedes us.

taken from the Handbook of Texas circa 2000....

Whereas about 55 percent of the national population is churched, the state figure is approximately 65 percent. And quite unlike many of those early settlers, contemporary residents actually take religion seriously, as evidenced by polls since the early 1980s. Although only about 44 percent of the population attend church weekly, with Baptists and Catholics being the most frequent, 70 percent reportedly consider religion very important, 54 percent acknowledge having had a "born-again" experience, and 82 percent would look favorably upon a child entering the clergy.

katie will move to canada some day.

And we'll be glad to have you. Unless Harper and his cronies have ruined us by then.
