Gotta get out of the way

Today on Stylus, I try to do some justice to Alfie's unfairly overlooked debut. It's been six years, and I play it a lot more than most records from that year.

You've got me interested to hear this now. I tried the singles at the time (since they were being promoted as NAM along with Elbow and Turin Brakes, I guess) and didn't really think too much of them. I did later like the song "A Word In Your Ear" a lot though and I'd be interested if they might sound different with different experience/expectations

Thanks - I was planning to share on Stylus, so I'll pass it your way as well.

Thank you!
Oh and seeing the line from You Are The Generation... at the top of the page has made me think - do you have the Johnny Boy album? Can send it your way if not, I'm actually kind of amazed at how great it is.

I do, actually! It's a great album, I agree - still haven't gotten the Alfie out, was unexpectedly busy last night...
