China: It's just like that

Not that this couldn't have happened elsewhere, but really I'm less surprised that it happened there. The key bit:

A passerby pushed a would-be suicide jumper off a bridge in southern China because he was angry at the jumper's "selfish activity," Chinese media reported Saturday.

I thought this was the key bit:
"I pushed him off because jumpers like Chen are very selfish. Their action violates a lot of public interest," Lian told Xinhua. "They do not really dare to kill themselves. Instead, they just want to raise the relevant government authorities' attention to their appeals."

WOW- it reminds me of something about Cuba: we were taugt to use the word "self-reliant" as an insult. You wanna say someone's an asshole, you call them "self-reliant".
Except in Cuba, adults rarely used it, only us children who learned it at school.

It's not a cry for help. It's a cry for help diverting Communist progress.
